Tough day on the green. Me and a buddy hit the banks just upstream from the highway 18 bridge at about 7:30 this morning. Started out drifting a double hook setup with pink corkies and pink/ chartreuse yarn with some eggs and shrimp scent. Had a tap or two but nothin' big. Switched to a bobber and a black/orange/red marabou jig with eggs and shrimp scent. Had a takedown or two, but nothing happenin'. Started plunking with a bright green spin-n-glo with chartreuse yarn and some eggs with scent. Had two really decent taps, but didn't land anything. Finally switched to a #4 vibrax pink spinner. Had maybe one tap on that. My buddy didn't have any luck either. Not too many signs of life. No fish rolling, no surfacing. Only saw one other angler the whole time. Water was running high and fast. Visibility was only 2 - 2 1/2 feet at best. Still haven't gotten my first steelhead. I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me today. Oh well... At least I was FISHIN!!! Good luck and tight lines!

Nice report. Nice try - you threw the book at them. I hope the river drops before they close it.

I think there is some satisfaction of trying everything in your arsenal. Sounds like you have it dialed in. I've yet to try the spin and glo. Thanks for the report.

Thanks jens. Just tryin' to give it all I got. I still haven't got me a steely (ever). I'm thinkin' I'm gonna have to go south to find me one. Doesn't seem like any of my local rivers are running too well right now. I gotta get this steel monkey off my back soon! Good luck out there!
