WARNING!!! be careful going to reiter ponds to fish. there is a "road closed" sign. I figured the road was closed due to winter weather conditions so i drove around the sign and went fishing. there was about 40 other cars with people fishing, so im sure everyone just drove around, but on the way out there was a sheriff stopping every single person because we all drove around the sign, he informed me that it was a 438 dollar ticket for all of us going around that sign. I happened to be video recording this entire incident if you dont believe me. but he let me off with a warning and when i asked him why the road was closed he just said "body parts" i guess reiter is where that everett girl was burned in her car the otherday and they are looking for the remains of the body....you think the troopers would of done a better job of blocking off the scene instead of some dinky sign..

....but other than that it was a good, day, i didnt hook into anything but i saw about 4 steelies caught. all nice bright and chrome, and the river flow was great. a little fast but water was clear as can be. seemed like everyone was catching the steelies off of some lead with tubing and just a hook with some orange glow ball. but i would stay away from reiter for a few days unless you want to risk the 438 dollar ticket

Thanks for the report and information! Glad someone is catching at reiters. I think it's been slow in that area....

ya i happened to be recording the trip with my new camera recorder that my girlfriend got me for christmas, so i have the convo on tape with him. but i just didnt want anyone to get a astronomical ticket for just trying to have a good day to fish. the sign the cops put up was seriously a joke, it looked like a construction sign for winter road conditions.

Thanks for the information. There was a photo of the "road closed" sign on page B4 or the Saturday Seattle Times.

Yeah...We were out out there at daybreak, and saw the sign..My buddy and I also thought it was due to winter weather/water on road but went around anyway. We set up right at the mouth of the hatchery creek and just as it started to get a little light out, the guy right next to us yells FISH ON!...Cool, looked like it could be the start of a good day (finally) at Rieter....Guy pulls a nice 5-6 lb dime bright steelie. He was tossing a uv glo corkie essentially in the dark, using a little flashing light gizmo to charge the glow. We were fishing slip bobber and pink and peach marabou rigs with no luck...Seemed like the corkies and lead were the call of the day.Didnt see another fish caught for the next hour or so when my other buddy shows up around 7:30, tosses in a corkie drift rig and nails a nice 7 lbr on his third cast, down from the creek from the holding pens just above the rapids. Those were the only two fish we saw caught. We bailed at noon and fished the wallace near the trestle with no luck. REALLY windy sunday at Rieter but clear and no rain. Tight Lines
