I got to the river close to 7:30am just as it was getting light. I choose to fish at the spot where the guy hooked 8 and I think he landed 4 or 5 on Christmas day. There were only 2 other fishermen in this area. A little bit after I started the guy who fished this spot last week came and about the third cast he tail hooked one that was released.
A friend, Gary, showed up and talked with me for a bit and then he went on to his spot. It must have been around 11am and no on had hooked anything more, so I thought I would go up by Gary and make my lunch and finish fishing there.
I saw one brought in down river and if it weren’t for Gary I wouldn’t have got to bring one home. It was a male and weighted 6-14 gutted. I was scraping the slime off of it and it still had sea lice!
It sprinkled on and off until about 1:30pm when it started to rain and I left at 2pm.

Hi ya toni, glad to hear you were able to get out and fish, a great way to start the new year. What do you use to fish the rivers with. I've never done that kind of fishing, so when I read the river reports, it is all educational for me.
Have yourself a fish catching and prosperous New Year

I was using the regular drift fishing technique. Corky and yarn with scent if I remember to put it on, shrimp or anise and krill. This place is somewhat close to the the salt of the sound so the fish seem to come in waves of catching then nothing. I only saw 3 caught all day including to the one that came home with me. This is slow.
