I decided to fish at Dusty Lake for the first time, and it turned out to be pretty good. The hike down to the lake was extremely beautiful, with many different aspects of nature to view.
When we finally got to our spot, after crossing many slippery rocks (be careful... the fall hurts!), we got a fish on as seconds after the first line was cast. It turned out to be a relatively small rainbow, scale read 1.4 lbs, but had a pretty good fight. A couple mins later, we hooked a second rainbow, but it broke the line right before it was netted. It appeared to be bigger than the first, but I'm not completely sure. After the first two, there were no more bites at all. We saw a guy in a float tube catch one on a fly, but thats about it.
We showed up at around 9:00 AM, so I think that we just caught the end of the morning bite. We have plans to return in a week or so, and we'll be arriving at the beginning of the bite, hopefully.
