Water level has gone down but still fairly fast. Heard about only 1 catch the entire morning. About 10 people fishing. Several, including me and my fishing buddy, started to leave around 1PM. Still too early for steelhead, I think.

Just no bait allowed until today. Unless I'm mistaken. :-)

Do you ever fish on the Puyallup? I'm just asking cause a guy I was fishing with there told me about Tokul Creek and I'm wondering if you're the same guy. I'd never heard of that spot until a few days ago but it sounds like a lot of people know about it if there was ten people fishing there on a Tuesday.

I've fished the Puy a few times earlier this season but not lately. Probably should since I've seen reports of decent catches of chums there. So, that couldn't have been me chatting with you. :-)

Anyway, Tokul Creek is one of the hotspots for steelhead though likely not as well known as Reiter Ponds or Blue Creek.

I'm sure that this is just a mis-understanding of the area in which they were fishing. I'm sure they were just fishing the hole in the main river near the mouth of the creek. One can't really float fish Tokul Creek, not deep enough.

G-Man is right. We and the other anglers were fishing the big eddy (think that's what it's called) downstream from the mouth of the creek. People were scoping out the creek, but no one was actually fishing there.
