wow what a freakin day. So my dad and i decided to hit up the dungeness river since it opened yesterday, and when we went there it was muddy than all.....well you know what. so we headed over to the Elwah, and we had never been there so we found the lower dam and went up to the dam and asked a guy how to fish the river, so he gave us directions to the mouth of the river, but before we left he told us that the dam was at a stage 1 alert because of all the rain, so he said to be careful because they will be controlling the levels of the river.......

so my dad and i get down to the mouth of the river and its raining cats and dogs, but we figure we traveled all the way from edmonds we mind as well get out poles wet haha. so we put on our waders and start fishing and the river was nice a clear for the first 5 minutes, then after that the river started to surge with water.........5 more minutes go by and the river is surging with even more water, and entire trees are haulin 'A down the river, and by now we notice we are no longer in 6 inches of water, we are in about a foot and a half of water. the river rose so freakin fast it was nuts. I guess they let the entire flood gates wide open. and so as we were leaving i saw only one nice silver jump, and we met a few nice guys that said next week if its nice weather we will be able to just slay the silvers up there......but anyways kind of an interesting experience having the river rise that quick on you. kinda scary in the sense that "IF" we were in experience fishermen we could of been swept away, but we are experienced lol
