I launched from Sayres at about 0830. Water temp 48 degrees. Immediately motored over to the north tip of Poverty Rock. I threw
everything I had at them...needlefish, flatfish, power bait, and jointed Rapala's (F&H News recommendation). I fished with 2oz, 8oz, downrigged, and finally no weight at all.
About 1130 I tied on ol' reliable, the frog flatfish, with no weight and BAM, FISH ON! A nice 3lb Bow that jumped two times. This bow was shaped like a football. Nice fish. That fish made the trip worth while.
Nice to be out on the water again after having the boat sit for a while.
