We went out to the mouth of the Spokane River where it flows into Lake Roosevelt for some smallmouth fishing. We put in at Fort Spokane and headed upriver towards "the island". First cast on the west side of the island yeilded a nice smally. After about a half hour of fishing there we decided to move on to find some bigger ones. Went to the North shore and trolled up it without even a bite. We then went downstream and fished near the bridge, that is where we caught some nice fish. The biggest was a hefty 3 lbs. It was a good day of fishing, but with the 4th around the corner, it was just too busy on the lake to stay much past midday. Cant wait to go next weekend!
