3/26/2009 2:05:00 PMI went up river from the boat launch. I don't have waders so there is a lot of bank access. I didn't go down by Blue Creek where a to of people go. Lots of boats in the river and they drift by where I was casting. I would have to wait for them to go by.

3/26/2009 3:48:00 PMThere's some bank access down river from the boat launch too. Or you can take the trail down to blue creek, but its usually shoulder to shoulder fishing there. I personally am not fond of that river because there are so many people fishing it everyday, but if you don't mind that the river does produce lots of fish. Mostly natives now though which you can't keep. Still fun though to catch and release.

3/26/2009 3:52:00 PMThe two that I saw caught were hatchery. They were kept. They were maybe 4-6 lb. I have seen other reports from guides that limited. last weekend.

3/26/2009 4:54:00 PMThanks for the report Toni! I'm glad you made it down there, that is a good area where you were fishing. There aren't many natives in there anymore.. well according to the locals.. it's mostly hatchery. Hope to see you there sometime.

3/26/2009 6:27:00 PMI'll be fishing the Cowlitz early Sunday morning. I plan to fish the Blue Creek launch area and Barrier Dam. I only have a few hours but a few is better than none.
