The river did change a lot since the flood and the last time I saw it in December. Fished in 5 different spots that were practically brand new. The swing hole is inaccessible and just about gone. Water was emerald green with about 2-3 feet of visibility and moving pretty swiftly at 700CFS. Can't say much for the water temp, but when I got out there at 7:30 it was 29 degrees outside and foggy. The sun started to poke through and you could see the water evaporating from the river. Beautiful site. Started with bobber and pink jig and then black jig with no results. switched to pink 5" Berkley Power worm for about an hour with no results. Then went to an Aerofly tipped with 2" pink worm with no results. Then went corkie and yarn... no results. Never even saw a fish. Only about 5 other anglers there, but was practically alone on the river.

Live? Nope. Didn't have any. I did use Pro-Cure Sand Shirmp scent though. Sticky stuff. Anyone know where I can get live sand shrimp locally (Pierce Country)? Next time I go I'll be bringing cured eggs and some sand shrimp if I can get my hands on them.

You can try one of the marina's..Pt Defiance or Narrows Marina. But I know for sure they have them at the sportman's warehouse in Lacey.

tokul creek is the creek off the Snoqualmie, take Hwy 18 east to the end. Continue through Snoqulmie Ridge until you hit the three way, then go left. Follow that road past the falls, down the hill. Take a left on hatchery road ( i think it is the first left after you cross the creek). It will be down about a 1/4 mile or so if you can fish above the bridge that should be the best spot, only use a 10 inch leader. Up the creek from the brigde there is a cable that is as far as you can fish. check regs for that section. hope that helps!

Yeah for sure Quan! you up for giving Tokul Creek? 10" leaders though??? Is this another Minter Creek kinda place where you cast 10 ft and reel in slowly? I don't wanama do that again...

yup, 10" leaders because your pitching into tiny holding pockets and the corky/yarn only has a moment to get down into the hole before the current pushes it out. You don't even cast this creek, you pitch it like a bass angler. At least, that's how most guys do it.

Is it a combast fishing zone like Minter?
