Had tried the day before without finding fish, but a friend told me where they were, so went early (6:30 AM) to the spot. As soon as the light came in the silvers started to roll. Actually they were not only where my friend told (50 yards above the highway 2 bridge), but all the way back to the bridge (where there were non the day before). Lots of dark fish with some bright chrome in between. Had to fish up to 1:30 PM, but managed to leave river with one 7 pounder good enough for barbecue and one 9 pounder that was smoke material. Took me a long while to figure out what was working, fish was very specific with some people catching them easily and others having to work hard. Best combinations were either a chartruese body with dark feathers steelhead jig played as if it was a spoon and a corky/yarn combination in purple or dark red (black, pink and chartruese didn't work).
