Went out to fish at the Green River with my dad at the boat launch somewhere on Auburn Black Diamond Rd. It was raining but the temperature was in the low 60s high 50s, I didn't mind it. Anyway, we waded in the water to a bar in the middle of the water. The area is somewhat narrow so its easy to wade and cast. I also saw a lot of good size dark chinooks in the water. Others were in pretty bad shape....o.0 I picked a spot and got myself comfortable then made a couple casts. On my third or fourth cast, I had a strike and I set the hook. I can tell you that it put up a very good fight. Fought with it for about 5 minutes but then it broke my swivel...... Oh well, that's only 1/4 of the fun, although, it never jumped out of the water and never got within seeing distance so I couldn't tell what kind of fish it was. Hopefully it was a fresh silver. Later, saw a fly fisher land a beautiful looking steelhead. It had a definite chrome to it. After that,he came over to me and some guys before that to ask for a pen to mark his card, but I think he just wanted to show off his fish, ha ha. We fished from 11:30 to about a quarter to 2:00, during that time I hooked 4, landed and released 1 very dark but very big chinook, maybe 30 or 35 pounds. My dad hooked 3 but didn't manage to bring any to shore. It was fun even if we didn't get any keepers. We'll be coming back.

I see that your target fish was "Silvers", that area is closed to salmon right now. It's open from the mouth of the Duwamish to 277th bridge for silvers right now only. Check the regs.

Thanks for the report, and Mud Duck is correct.
The river is closed completely between 277th and the auburn black diamond road bridge until the 16th.
Above the bridge up to the dam is open for steelhead only. It is open for Silvers below 277th in auburn, and open for kings on the lower river between 405 and old highway 99. Hope this helps...

oops did i say silver.... Steelhead is open right? because thats what i meant to say was steelhead. Sorry for the error guys, I sometimes get confused between steelhead and silver, they seem to look alike.
