My cousin and I launched our little boat at Madison Park around 6:00 AM. The weather was very nice and the water was very calm. Got all our gear in the water around 6:30 AM. Fished a nice pocket near Madison Park with great success. My cousin started us out with a nice scrappy smallmouth bass that pulled the scale at 3.5 lbs. about 10 mins later, I hooked up with a nice shinny chub. Later on, we moved near the 520 bridge and my cousin immediately connected with another 1.5 lb. smallmouth. I also hooked a nice 10 inch yellow perch at the same place. We fished for another hour without success, so we moved back to the little pocket. First cast, my cousin hooked another smallie but unfortunately the fish spit the hook after it jumped out of the water 2 feet high. The fish appeared to be around a pound so we weren't too upset about it. Finished around 11:30 AM because the temperature was too hot. What a nice day to be out in the water. I think we've finally got the hang of catching bass now. Tight lines.
