This was actually the West Branch of the Little Spokane. I have a shallow-bottom Scanoe with a troller, but also used paddles to get over some shallow spots. We accessed it by Eloika lake and went up as far as we could go and fished back down. The weeds at Eloika were so bad at the north end that we had to paddle to the mouth of the river for the last 100 yards or so. Basically, if you don't have a canoe or kayak, you're not going to get here. We used some spinners as well as jigs with spoons and plastics. Gold spoons with green plastics worked the best. All in all, we got 6 or 7 bass over a 4 hour period, all in the 1 to 2 lb. range. Normally we get rainbows and browns as well, but no trout at all today. Water was 75 degrees and still pretty high for this time of year.
