These rivers have dropped pretty fast lately and are near great shape...

Wow! I have never fished this river before and I had a couple of fish on in a half hour then nothing. I lost my first hook on a something in the river. So I put on a mid size pink and white cheater with fluorescent pink yarn. I noticed the line was a little frayed but I thought “oh well I’m not going to catch anything” so I left it on, casting out a little ways out and it swung toward the bank. I hooked a small silver fish (16 to 18 inches). It jumped once in the air and ran into the current and ran and ran and ran and ran. “Oh my” I thought “I won’t have any line left” so I put my hand on the line to stop it and lost the fish! It broke exactly where I thought it would. I reeled all that line back, put on a new hook and corky set up. It was red with chartreuse yarn, again mid sized. I hooked another fish right in front of me. This one was bigger-maybe 24 inches. It also was silver with a white belly. It rolled on top of the water and unhooked itself. I kept casting but didn’t get anything else. I walked down further trying to find another place to fish but didn’t hook anything else. The river was fast and cloudy with water visibility about 3 inches.
