This report is for Apr 19 and 20th. We fished Neah Bay for Ling Cod both days and had a great time, I've been going up there for 25 years and have never had 3 straight days of such beautiful weather.
Because I have only a 16 foot boat we do not venture west of Waddah Island. We did not have to as there were plenty of fish on the shelf just east of Seal and Sail rocks. We limited on Lings both days in about an hour. Our fish weren't real big with the largest being 36" and the smallest about 25". Every fish we caught was on a large size white curley tail jig. Water level varied from 30 to 60 feet. We also caught a few black rock fish but did not really target them.
As an added bonus for the trip we took a drive/hike up to the Cape Flattery lookout. Well worth the trip. I have been wanting to do that for many years and finally got it done. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a diversion from fishing.

We must not be much at Bfishing. I stayed at Sekiu from Thurs to Sunday. We ran down to Sail Rock on Friday and we couldn't do squat! Nobody around us was getting anything either. We got a few rockfish and one undersized Ling. We tried big jigs and small jigs. We didn't get there until around 1PM so maybe we missed the bite. But we did get three Chinooks at Sekiu. I just posted a report.

I think the key to our success was our timing. We started fishing each morning around 9 AM. Not sure what the tides were doing only know that the water was really calm and we were drifting westward. Also I think that the white curly tail jigs were key. In the past we have had luck with different colors but this year all fish were caught on pure white jigs. I think maybe with the bright sunlite they like white better. Just a guess.
