I wanted to try out my new (used) neoprene waders and wading shoes, I got them for a bargain on EBAY and with good reason. The wading shoes were a bit too small and made my feet scrunch up so that I lost pretty much all feeling. About an hour into wading as I walked in deeper up to my hips I felt a cold drip drip running down my legs. What can I say, they still kept me warm and at least they were a bargain though!
The incoming tide was gradual, and the rain was misting out of the overcast skies. Winds were finally below 10 mph, and it was quite bearable to be out.
I tossed chartreuse metal jigs for about 3 hours with no luck. Also, for fun I switched to a bright orange top-water plug, just to work on applying action. I saw a big Seal swim by and hang out just offshore and I thought that he was following the fish, and that I would have a chance at something. It turns out he was just hanging out and relaxing, like me, as if we were both thinking about the other "what is that guy doing out there?"
No bites, no fish. But the short drive over to Brooklyn Brothers Pizza for a few hot slices was all worth it.
tight lines!
