Day Two!
Much better! Wind calmed down, sun even peeked out a few times. We spent the morning hours roaming the peninsula. Hit the local bakery(that place is amazing) and tried clamming again. Low tide was at 5:11pm and was a negative this day so that's better. Again we went out(skunked the first day) we were a little worried we wouldn't find any again. Since it was our first time here and we were a bit early in the day 2:30-3:00 ish
Eureka! Around 3:30 once the tide got far enough out and I got the waders on and walked out a little farther, patience paid off. Had limits in 15 minutes. Was trying to beat the waves and suck as many out as I could before the water came rushing in again haha was fun!
If we waited even later no doubt it only would have got better but had a long drive home. By 11pm I was home and had 30 clams cleaned. Phew!! Only rated a 4 cause they were on average a bit smaller than Westport area past years.
Fun times. And now my friends are gunna have fried clams at the super bowl party. Go broncos! Or should I say booooooo Cam......
