Got a real craving for some Hood Canal Oysters. Since my usual spots Dosewallips and Eagle Creek both had department of health closures in effect, I decided to try another location I never had visited before. Triton Cove State Park is in between the two, and is right off of Highway 101. It is day-use only, and has a boat launch. The Oysters that were present were mostly attached to the rocks, so the pickings were a little bit slim for just the average Joe carrying an Oyster knife. Overall it took me around an hour and a half to limit out, and It was a decent spot for Oysters. I doubt that there is really any other clams present on the beach, and if there are they are far and few between. Please make sure you observe the park boundaries and don't go onto private beach without prior permission, it would suck if some ruined it for the rest of us. I give this place a 3/5 rating, it was not bad, but nothing special. Probably will return if my usual spots are closed.
