3rd straight day at North Beach. Probably the last day Pink fishing, at least for awhile. Looking forward to Coho showing up end September early October. Arrived just before 7am, beach was already very full. Once I found a spot and got myself set up, noticed the person next to me was reeling in a fish. It was already his 3rd of the morning. Thought this was going to be a fast limit today. About 30 minutes I landed my first fish. Looked at the time to be a smallish male. Over the next little bit hooked into 2 more and lost both. One fish took the lure no more than 10 feet from shore. I was watching others down the beach as I was reeling in and actually thought I had snagged bottom because it was so close to shore. Muttered dang it to myself as I began to try and unsnag myself, when suddenly I realized that it was a fish. Fish ran away from me for a second, then turned and headed my direction and spit the hook. A little later landed a decent 22 inch fish. All the females I've caught this year have been 17-19 inches, the males 20-21. Due to the size I just assumed it was a decent buck for this year. Once I started cleaning it, out pops a bunch of eggs. It actually made me take a 2nd look at it to make sure it wasn't a small Coho. Nope, it was just a decent Pink hen. Fished until 11 am and called it quits as I had stuff to do in the afternoon. Not a knock em dead day, but was enough action to keep me entertained. Didn't see as many schools rolling as I did the previous day. Was using a size 2 pink buzz bomb.
