Haven't seen any recent posts for crab in area 13 but wanted to take advantage of a break in the weather to get on the water somewhere.
Put one pot in by the green can and other in Oro bay off Anderson Island. Both pots had turkey legs securely anchored in their bait bag.
Went off for a couple of hours sight seeing around the west side of Mcneill Island. Beautiful day for wandering around Puget Sound!
Got back to the pot in Oro Bay at 3:15 to find three reds. I'm particular about my crab target so back in they went. I had high hopes for some dungies as I headed back for the green can. Btw, there were no pots there when I dropped mine. I was happy to find my pot (I had lost two there earlier this year). I was very disappointed to find my pot clean as a whistle. The bait bag was open and the turkey leg gone. I wouldn't have been surprised by females, too small, reds, seaweed or starfish. I was very surprised to find a pristine pot without my bait.

Anyone tell me what that meant? I have my suspicions...

And, btw there were now a half dozen pots near by and surprisingly no other trailers at the Luhr Beach boat launch.

Sorry to hear about your pot. We always stay near by our pots and don't even go off fishing. Some times they can end up very near deep water when we intended them to be safely with in our ropes length. When the tide comes up they can get pulled or the bouy will go under till the tide goes back out. Other times you hear about pots being stolen or emptied. Had a bouy get pulled under by Anderson shrimping in May thought some one stole it but later when we pulled one of our other pots the bouy came up and we grabbed it. Luck for us we didn't loose it. Now the pots all get extra bouys on them.

I know all about the tides at Nisqually. I live near the boat launch and can see how the tidal change acts like a fast-flowing river there.
I've never pulled a pot as clean as this one, nor had a bait bag opened. It would take an unusual effort to remove a turkey leg through the crab pot.
I don't feed a family with my harvest. It's a sport sort of thing for me. I was very disappointed needless to say.
You obviously know that it's no longer safe to leave a pot in that area.

Occasionally a pot is pulled that contains nothing but two cans of beer.

Two bottles of a nice IPA would be a fair exchange in my book!
