Best day crabbing ever! Launched at Pt Defiance at 5:30, pots were in the water for just over 1 hour, we started pulling to check them. The first from 45 ft had around 10 with 2 just short one big one ALL SOFT, I thought is this the ways the day is going. I think I got one keeper rock out of that pot. Second pot from 65ft had 4 good hard shell keepers and some small and female that went back. Third from 80 ft only one crab and it is a good size rock, that pot went back in 65 ft. Forth from 100 ft had 4 keepers. So first pull and we have 8 dungeness and 2 red rock. Around an hour later the first pot gives up our limit and we are throwing back the smallest keepers. I don't recall how many keeper we culled. The picture is of the pot we pulled after we had our limit. Smallest we kept was 6 1/2 with 4 at or over 7. Had crab for lunch when it is normally dinner. Ended up with just under 7 Lb of meat. Used fish scraps for bait.
