Women kicked my brother in law, my brother and I out for baby shower so what would be better than a day in area 9. Decided to hit the calm weather before the storm today. Trolled Pilot point to Point no Point. Using green glow splatter flasher followed by an 3inch Irish flag spoon. Caught one 23 inch 4 lb hatchery about 90ft in 100ft water around 9:30. Brother in laws first black mouth. Then made a pass back through in deeper water 150 ft to be exact and was about to drop the ball deeper when the spool started making that lovely sound we long for. Right at low tide. I was 111ft when the 26 inch 6 lber hit. Buried deep in his mouth. When he hit the surface he ran right passed the boat as I turned his head back towards the net he jumped right in. Just as we landed the lovely hatchery a seal popped his head up looking for his lunch, sorry dude its in my boat! Had one more on that tangled the other line when coming up we lost. Inexperience I guess. That would have been a boat limit but the nasty weather was starting to hit so we called a day. Oh yeah all on the same setup and same side of the boat.
