My good friend and I launched the kayaks at Thea's Park and headed over to the pulp mill and the mouth of the Puyallup. We began fishing at 6:45 (a little late) and worked it until the bite came on, red hot, at 8:00AM straight up. We could not keep them off the line when the school came through. Had a couple fish fight like hell jumping all over the place, going bonkers. We were trying to reel in as quickly as possible because there were so many seals in the area. We bagged two bucks and lost three apiece. Netting out of a kayak solo with a crazy pink on is a fun time!!!! We did head back over towards the pulp mill to see a guy anchored up throwing flies. The guy was a good fly fisherman as he was getting it way out and was getting fish on EVERY cast. I don't know what he had tied on but I have never seen someone kill it like that for that long. I mean every cast and strip and he had a fish on. Anyway, great morning on the water!
