I did extremely well fishing West Medical this last week, but who didn't, After all, there really isn't any mystery about what
they're biting on this time of year. If it hits the water, that's what they're biting on. With the number of plants and carry overs all competing for food, the fisherman, with cunning tactics and superior technique can leave satisfied that he or she has out-smarted a weaker species, often displaying the trophy proudly on a metal stringer at one's side. I must have conquered at least 20 fish on everything from a pheasant tail nymph to a micro size chironomid. Whatever hit the water, I caught fish on. I however do not taint the victory with blood. The spoils of war for me is releasing the catch unharmed allowing dignity and spirit to remain knowing the favor will be repaid my next trip out when I again make the acquaintance and complete a cycle founded on reverence for life and the conservation thereof. Enjoy the outdoors but always catch and release.
