I had set the alarm for 4am to meet Glenn and Cami of F24 at the launch at 5:30am. I fell asleep around 10pm, woke at 12am, then fell asleep around 2am to be woke up by the alarm at 4am. I laid there thinking how icky I feel. But I forced my self out of bed and got ready to go. Fresh cool air helped me feel more awake, better.

The plan was to go where they caught a wild king yesterday which was the girl scout camp. So we spent all the morning there. About 6am to11am. Not all of it was fishing...photo shoots, video taping. LOL I even said if I have to do that one more time he was going to have to pay me.
But it is all worth it. Fun and we did get a fish in the boat and one that Glen crackered with his shenanigans a top the fish box.
We were sitting talking and I was looking toward shore when Cami says to me you got a fish. So I jump up and look at the fish finder as well as the counter on the downrigger and I am saying no it is bottom. Click the cable up and then find out that I do indeed have a fish. A very nice king salmon. I weight it and it was between 11-12 pounds. I caught on a Wannafish A Lure Shamrock Mojo var. with a flasher that I had hooked upside down. Hey, it doesn’t have instructions on it! I thought it was a Purple Haze but when I looked in my flasher case after I got home I don’t think it was. It is a Hot Spot though. I don’t remember for sure what depth we were at. It was cloudy and we had a couple of showers that got us wet. Then mid morning the sun came out.

I'm confused, I'm just getting into saltwater fishing, I assume this was all catch and release but just to make sure I thought salmon season didn't start till July 1.

Hey Toni, were you pretty much trolling bottom then with the dodger / hoochi combo? how deep of water were you marking fish in? really nice catch!!

@Dustin07 I was on the bottom. When Cami said I had a fish I was sure I was just dragging bottom. There was so much current that the cable was always 10 or more feet more than what the depth was.
