It was some of the most blustery weather we had fished on the opener. The fishing began at midnight with the firing of the cannon Friday night/Saturday morning at Klinks Resort. I've got to applaud Klink for supplementing the lake with trout that he purchases in addition to the states plants. We fished from the dock with power bait and caught our limits of fat trout in a couple of hours. Lots of fun with all of the people roaming about. We caught a little sleep and then began trolling with a wedding ring on one pole and a 0000 dodger on the other after sunup. Catch and release was the name of the game for 1-2 pounders as well as the smaller plants throughout the day. We saw larger caught. We never made it to the other end of the lake, plenty of trout to be had right there between Klinks resort and the state game ramp. Contrary to the states recommendations, we troll very slowly, bouncing our gear off of the bottom at times with only 20-30 pulls of line out. I target this lake on the opener every year now. It's got two resorts, Klinks and Bunkers, and a state game ramp.
