My GF and I decided to sleep in since we were up kind of late. Hit the water about 8ish and dropped lines in the Humpy Hollow area. It took about 45 minutes to hit the first fish. Lost it, then hit another shortly after. About 5lbs. Lost another fish then hit another about 6 lbs. Was getting ready to move when bam, the rod starts dancing but I couldn't get it out of the holder fast enough. Gone! Finally moved over to the outside of possession and finished the day with 2 weighing 8 and 9 lbs. It was a beautiful day on the water. Only gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because the fishing isn't red hot yet. It's good and steady but I know it will get even better. Fished flashers and squid, the usual colors that everyone fishes with herring strips. Tight lines everyone.

Sweet, ya no need for first light on Coho. I've gone from a strip to a hunk of Power Bait in the head of the Squid.

i like to pack the head of the squid with power bait and put a herring strip on. I believe there is no such thing as too much scent! Any body else fishing the derby this weekend? I will be out there with my GF and another good friend of mine. I have a 21' Seaswirl Striper with and open bow. Not many of those around here. If you see us, say hello. Good luck out there.
