with so many options of where to fish now I decided that I would give the salt another shot before I start getting into the river fishing so met my buddy at 5:15am at Redondo and just beat the crowd and we had lines in the water by 5:45am. Starting with a white/pink polka dot hootchie with herring strip on one rod and the Irish cream on the other. At 6:30 we got our first take down and it was a nice 6lb silver on the hootchie. 15 minutes later we get our second silver in the boat on the same set up. So I bring in the spoon and we noticed a lot of fish up near the surface and a couple of jumpers so went with a cut plug herring with fire brine blue cure and a UV spin and glow behind a agitator flasher and no sooner did I get that down to 20 feet then BAM! A nice 6lb silver again! The wind picked up and the chop started to get pretty bad so we called it a day at 10am knowing that it was going to be a zoo later at the launch so were pretty happy with 3 fish just 1 shy of the ever allusive limit!! maybe next time!!
