So I was concerned with the huge tide swing that it would be harder to get sanddabs this morning for bait so was prepared to do some jigging. I was correct as we were only able to get 2 and finally got tired of fighting the current and the wind so set out to try our luck. I proceeded to lose my set up on the first drift so switched over to a black and white jig glow-in-the-dark with bloody tuna scent on it. No sooner as the jig hit the bottom the wham! A solid take and the battle was on! After 3 good runs we were able to get him in the net and pushing 31" was a keeper. That was it as I had to get to work so at least I am 2 for 2 on my trips this year.
Will wait until Monday before I try it again as it will be crazy at the launch tomorrow so good luck to all you shrimpers!
