Launched at Johns River about 6:30 a.m , the place was pretty much deserted . caught this 8lb. Coho about a half hour after getting our lines in the water . after getting skunked last weekend we thought ; " alright today is the day ! " . turned out not to be . fish were jumping pretty consistently , but not biting . fished all day and not one more bite , that until later . we decided to stay until the incoming tide came in . my buddys girlfriend had heard that sometimes at high tide the fish come back in from the river to feed . sounded plausible . high tide was at 4:00p.m. around 3:30 or so the bite came on big time . people were hooking Kings left and right . we caught three in about a half hour . big Kings too . our biggest was probably pushing 30lbs. bummer was you could not keep em . all went back unharmed . and as fast as the bite came on , it was off . seemed to last maybe an hour . sure was fun .
