This is a second hand report from my dad, I put it up because its kind of interesting.
The old man and a freind went out to our same place. As always the gill nets were out and 2 other boats showed up to fish, rarely do we see anyone but netters. A boat with 2 flyfisherman got 2 silvers and a local who I'm not sure if he got anything. They were both complaining about the nets but everybody it seems does that. The netter said he got 150 salmon the day before, only 45 that day. He and the other net being fished by 2 women got 3 Makeral. Spanish or Jack I don't know but they were by Port Gamble in less then 10ft of water. I've caught them at Sekiu and Bamfield on Vancouver Island but have never heard of the in Hood Canal. My dad ended up landing 1 silver and lost another. His friend got skunked except for the silvers the netter gave him. I'll let him know about the info that was posted on the proper way to keep these fish from a previous post.
