Launched at Edmonds sling at 6:00am. Trolled a large Quikfish at 35-40 feet for about an hour, but no takers. Trolled southwest towards Jeff Head, switching over to green flasher and squid at mid-channel. I seem to do better on the mirror-prism flashers than this other one I was using yesterday that just has some silver material laminated onto it. I like to use the tried and true green spatterback OG142R squid with about 30-32 inches of leader for coho.
As I was trolling along a rip, just starting to approach Jeff Head from the Northeast, the downrigger popped and a few minutes later I boated a 6-7 pound ocean run coho. Trolled around the area for a couple hours more but didn't get any other coho...just a pink that I released. Called it a day at 10:30am. It seems to get more challenging for coho after 11:00am. I always do best out of Edmonds for them between 7:30 and 11:00am
