We headed out first thing in the morning again to fish at Jeff's Head Friday. The bites were few and far between for us this morning. After about 45 minutes of fishing early in the morning around 6:30 AM I got a fish on. I ended up getting it to the boat and it was a hatchery king but we measured it and it was half an inch too short, so back it went in the water. I caught that on the ace hi-fly purple haze squid with a green flasher. We didn't get any bites again until the tide change around 10:30 AM. First my dad got a fish on while trolling with a 6 inch spoon. It was a good fish and spooled some line, he had seen it and said it was probably around 15lbs but of course he loses the fish like he always does. Again, more lip from me about that like the morning before that. On our pass going back I hook up with a fish and get it to the boat, my dad's taking forever bringing his pole in and messing with the wheel while I'm trying to tell him to just get the net, I had it next to the boat and it was either a king or pink, didn't check to see if there was a clipped fin or not and he took forever and bye bye goes the fishy. More lip from me to my dad, no more bites for the day and off we went home.
