It was a clear sunny nice day with a light breeze coming from the east. We had to put in at the pay launch site on the south side of the lake. The state access ramp is not usable due to the low water. I saw 7 boats on the lake, and there was 7 boat trailers at our location. I guess the other boat ramps are closed.
I fished for the so-called "killer crappie fishing" as reported in the paper. I fished for 5 hours casting, & using a bobber. I fished deep, shallow, in the reeds and trolled. I did not get a single bite!
I talked with 2 other boats, and they both had the same results. I think the lake might be turning over at this point. I am not sure who is giving the paper fishing conditions at Sprague, but the paper should ignore this persons reports.
Still all in all it was a great day to be outside wetting a line.
