Finally was able to get out on the water this week but was hoping to title this post "chinook or coho" but alas, the pinks are starting to show up in bigger numbers!
launched at 5am both Wednesday and Thursday at Redondo. Wednesday started my usually south troll following the pattern I use every year~ using hot spot flashers green with glow and Irish cream coho killers and 10 minutes into the 1st troll the rod starts dancing and fish on! Wednesday ended up with 5 fish hooked and 2 landed with 1 that wrapped around my downrigger ball that was barely in the water and broke off! I think that one was a coho but not sure.
Thursday same story with fish on by 5:30 and this one kicks our butts but we finally manage to get into the net and it was a big pink! of course, the digital scale not working estimated at about 6-7lb's Get both rods back down and on the troll back towards the launch same story and this one a little bigger;
Thursdays count 2 for 2 but had to get to work so off the water by 9am~ darn, right at tide change but plan on hitting it the next 3 days just hoping for a nookie but had to admit, I took good care of the pink and put on the bbq tonight with butter and my special salmon seasoning and it was pretty darn tasty! good luck out there let's hope the big boys show up soon!
