I took a scouting expedition to Tanwax to get some pictures for a future Feature Lake article. Trolled to the north end of the lake using a worm harness/spinner combo. No takers. When I got to the north end of the lake I found a lot of good looking crappie structure so pulled out a micro jig with twisty tail and placed it 5 feet below a bobber. Cast it up against the water plants and slow retrieved. I caught several fish in 45 minutes. Size was 7-8 inchers, not huge but not bad. Chuck at the resort had a picture from a guest that caught a nice 12" plus crappie, so there are some big ones in there. I think this lake would be great to hit in the evening hours for these crappie. I hope to come back with the kids this summer and give it a try.
