Sunday morning the Quadfather and I did a late start around 11 to go see if we could find some lingcod near to Shilshole. Several boats were fishing the Shilshole breakwater, so we went over north of Magnolia to some wrecks and rocks there. Several more boats were already there having had the same idea. The wind was blowing making it extremely tough to stay over the structure. After about an hour and a half or so of wind and no action, we said screw it and opted to catch flounder north of Shilshole. Ended up with a decent little bunch of sand dabs (goooood eatin'...) and called it a day as the wind and chop were really picking up. Glad to get off the water as it was getting chilly and the wind and swells made the ride back to Shilshole in the little boat very interesting. Overall pretty good times - just fun to catch some fish. I'd grade the excursion higher but for the total skunking on any ling cod interest and the weather and water conditions.
