Got to Dash Pt in my little row boat to get into some more pink action. Fished dawn to about 2pm...just thick with pinks (also spotted a small school of kings with no avail). This may sound bigheaded but I stopped counting after 20. Even the fisherman on the pier seemed to be hooking up like crazy. I CR'd all my fish with 100% success in reviving all the little fighters.
Not sure how many pinks you can actually keep in MA 11 but I saw more than one shore fisherman (guys wading) with more than 2 pinks?; Guess I need to check the regs.
STILL, the craziest part of my report is a confrontation with a seal. I had hooked a salmon and just in time netted the fish just as a seal passed under my boat. As i was removing the hook from the fishes mouth over the water, the seal grabbed the fish through my net and nearly pulled me in, thrashing against my boat and making me lose an oar in the process. Eventually the seal let go but only to come back for round 2 mins later. I thought it would never let go the 2nd time it bit the net. I've heard of them stealing fish from anglers while fighting a fish but never in the net! Oddly aggressive...anyway, had a lot of fun all day and seemed like everyone around me was hooking into fish.
