OK, after approving HH reports and seeing guys catch limits, I really questioned whether I wanted to share today's dismal outing (as concerns the catching, not the day fishing). My son James surprised me yesterday by agreeing to go fishing today, so yesterday afternoon was spent with getting the boat ready for the salt (first trip this year) and planning my strategies. Launched out of Edmonds and ignored all the boats there, opting for a run over to P no P. Kinda wanted to give the boat a good workout and play with my gps. James did what he usually does, slept in the cuddy. He did get out to fish P no P but it was dead slow there. I saw a couple caught between 7-8:30. As we hit low tide moved to our next spot, east side of Possession Point. Same routine, white flashers, pink hoochies, herring strips, no fish. After an hour humbled myself and ran up to Mukilteo and did once down the Hollow. Had three hits - finally! and no sticks. By now it was noon and chores (and my wife) were calling. There's always next week. Now I need to decide - catch lots of pinks at HH (because I know by next week they will be in thick) or try for a lucky king at Sammamish? Decisions, decisions. I did see fish being caught at HH and as other reports are indicating, I think if you hit it you'll be boating some fish.

We've all had days like yours Mike. In fact I skipped fishing out of my boat last Friday and fished with a top guide only to bring home only two fish. Good luck next week!

So I have been adding a second red Gamakatsu hook to my pink setup and I seem to lose fewer fish... sometimes the second hook swings around and gets them on the outside of the head...

Toni, if you check the regs I believe that would be considered a snagged fish and would need to be released. Hook needs to be in the mouth, not on the outside. FYI

Those rules are for freshwater.

My buddy and his son caught 5 yesterday at the Hollow between 0830 and noon. All hit a pink coho killer. None touched the small pink squid. All were at 95 feet. I will be out there Wednesday morning. Can't wait!!!
