went out to diamond point at 4am this morning for the low tide to fly fish with the girl friend. georgus sunrise!, howevere we fished for 4 hours, I was using floating fly line with a sink leader and all i caught was a 1 inch baby halibut, i didnt even realize it was on my line until i casted back a fouth a few times and realized that my fly line was screwing up cause there was some dinky fish on. and my gf was using a spinning rod with a pink buzzbomb and never got a bite. i just dont get it, i thought the pinks were gonna be in by now, every one said pinks will be in mid july.......so much for that. oh well the water was calm and a georgus day up there

They won't be in Port Angeles it seems like for another 2 weeks, they've been getting pinks at Sekiu right now but not in thick numbers yet.

ya from what i have heard there was supposed to be a butt load of pinks this year, but i highly doubt it from what the creel reports says, and im sure all the natives snatched a buttload with thier nets

I heard from a reliable source that a huge school was spotted in the ocean 2 days ago. Now whether his source is reliable I cant say. From what I gather they are a touch behind. Maybe another week or two and they will start staging? Keep us informed if you start seeing them.

My wife and I were in Neah Bay Thursday till saturday, didn't see many pinks yet, as far as the natives getting a buttload, that's not true, most of them are fishing kings and waiting for a poss. sockeye fishery.

I agree with jbball, I think they will be in area 6 around the second week of August. I would be interested in knowing when they arrive in area 6 & 7. That will allow us to estimate when they will be in the area (8-2) where I fish.

I live in area 11 and since july10th ive caught 6 pinks and three silvers. dash point..... they are already here so i have no idea why u guys should have already seen some judging by what we have going on here. huh. thats wierd
