I was really hoping on fishing on saturday since this is the last weekend of ling season but the weather wouldent cooperate. fishing in 25 knot winds is pretty dangerous... the weather was better so we went for a short trip sunday. we fished a new spot that was pretty cool their was a platue of 60ft with 130ft of water around it. we found a good drift that took us off a drop off and fished it. I had rigged up a spreader bar with a 12oz wieght and a rockfish skin/tail on the leader. my dad was using a 6oz diamond jig. I was the first to get a bite but he came off shortly after. my dad then hooked up with a 34incher and we boated it. he asked me wiether or not he shound keep fishing and I said shure. on the next drop he had a nice one on for 5-10sec imediatly after he lost it he dropped down and the ling grabbed his jig again. this was a smaller fish but great eating size. we had to get back early so we kept the ling and called it a day. forgot to mention I kept a 8-10in rockfish and brought it into marine biology were we disected it. definate bonus points from teach.
