Well our week in Neah Bay is over. We fished Lings and sea bass prior to the Halibut opener with amazing success. My brother-inlaw got biggest ling and a personal best at 17#. Limits of lings 8-10lbs were the norm. for the Halibut opener, we were greeted with smooth water and great fishing. All 4 in our group caught Butts. We fished inside of Neah Bay in the straits and found lots of Chickens. Brother-inlaw got a 25lbr and I got a 35lbr. End of that day it looked like we had a massacre in the boat....Blood everywhere. Oh, we finished that day with a limit of lings. The next halibut day, Seas were way to smooth and no wind. Tides were almost non-existient so we had no drift. The guys that went to the ocean said it was like fishing in a bathtub, soooo calm. Brother-inlaw quickly caught a 15lbr and then he proceded to put on a clinic on how to catch small Butts. We released a 10 and an 8. I had lots of bites but nothing to the boat. I found great fishing, and had a great time camping for a week with my 3 fishing partners. The stuff memories are made of !!!!!
