Friend Tom and I found time to fish today at Jeff Head for blackmouth. LT 6:30am, HT 12:30. Conditions: partly sunny, "crisp" (40-50 degrees), breezy (whitecaps). We had our gear in the water at 7:30am and at 7:40 I hooked and landed our first fish of the day (pictured). Great fight, nice 8ish pound fish. Depth 65 ft, green flasher, magnum green hoochie, herring strip, and Fish Tickle herring flavored tablet (slowly releases a herring scent trail). Trolling south in the area of the Whitehouse, 120ft deep water. Second and third fishes were lost, 9:30, 10:00. One at 65 ft, one at 85 ft, same rigs. Second keeper (a just 22") was caught at 11:00 at 85 ft deep by Tom. 3 of 4 fish were caught trolling south against the out-going tide. Tons of bait showing up on the fishfinder. We stayed in the 110-150 ft range. Saw a couple other boats with nets out, fish-checker reported one fish when we got back to the dock. I'd say give it a try, it was good fishing for us today!
