my girlfriend and i started out at about 10 a.m. on Monday She was jigging a 2oz crippled herring in a blue and white color teamed up with 12lb Berkley big game and a 9ft rod i was using the same lure in green and white, teamed with a shimano sciMitar 8'6" and an ambassador 6000 casting reel, we were casting out and letting it go all the way to the bottom before jigging back, by noon she hooked up with what everyone who saw it said to be about a 25lb king that took her straight out to open water and broke her off she was a little more than upset. that was all for that day. then the very next day we went back determined to get one within an hour i had a nice king follow my jig all the way up, but i ran out of water so i quickly casted back into the direction the fish headed, when it hit the bottom i jig 2 times, then, all of a sudden WHAMM!!! FISH ON!!! it had to have been the same fish i had just seen.. we fought for about 10 minutes then the line goes slack, its heading towards me!!! but by the time i catch up to the line, its gone. dang darn it!! so back to fishing. a couple hours later I'm jigging back and swinging my pole back and fourth to get the seaweed off my line, and WHAMMM!! fish on again not as big as the other one, but still a keeper, she smoked my reel and burnt my thumb real good as i was tryin to slow her down, we went at it for a good 10 minutes before she grew tired. we landed that one she turned out to be 10 lbs and 29inches the picture is included with this report. so after all the excitement and i got my composure back i casted out one more time for kicks my lure didn't even hit the bottom and i was hooked up again lost that one though in less than a minute wasn't expecting it lol, all in all we had a great time and out of four kings in 2 days we landed one and got more roe for this winters steelhead fishing!!! tight lines everyone and we'll see ya on the water!!!
