Started the day a few minutes late. Tom and I had the boat in the water and fishing at about 6:50am. We worked Meadow Point first, running two poles off of downriggers. Within 20 minutes our first fish of the day came to the boat, a nice 7 1/2 pound hen caught on green flasher and magnum gr hoochie with herring strip at 55 ft deep, caught by Tom. A second fish was hocked and lost by your's truly shortly thereafter. Seeing not too much action going on around us, we decided to run across to Jeff Head. Glad we did! Within one minute of dropping our lines Tom had another nice 6 1/2 pound silver caught at 65 ft. Then I hooked and caught/released a 10 pound king. Then I hooked and released a 4 pound shaker. Then Tom caught and kept a 4 pound resident. All this by 10am. And all caught on the same rod at 55-85 ft deep. On my rod - nothing. And I switched to several different set ups, no matter, they only seemed interested in that one rig. We ended the day running over to West Point and fished a short 45 minutes and called it a day. My advice - move if you don't get good action, the fish are there but require some searching to find.
