How times change and yet do not change, close to 30 years ago a picture was published in what was I think Outdoor sports paper. It was of three generations of LEE's fishing at Westport. I just came home from trip to Ilwaco where three generations of LEE's once again had a wonderful time fishing together only a different group of LEE's. First group: My Father (Burl Lee) his brother (Levi Lee) one generation My self (Larry Lee) 2nd gen. My sons (Larry Lee Jr. & Randy Lee) 3rd gen. we had a wonderful time with fish caught and memories made. This last group lacked Burl and Uncle Levi as they have gone on to be with the LORD. Now I am the Old Guy and waiting for call home. But this group had many fish and great memories also, hand these things down to your loved ones and it will continue as long as the Lord tarries. This second group. Myself Grandpa (Larry Lee Sr.) 1st gen. My son (Randolph Lee DVM) "do I sound proud ?" 2nd gen. His son, my grandson (Cody Lee) 3rd gen. and a dyed in the wool fisherman at six years old. We spent the first five days of August at Cape Disapointment and my son was Capt. & Guide of his own 19 ft. boat (did I raise him right?) we went out three days and came back with one short of a full limit two days and had about three fish the other day, a short day that one. Caught two Chinooks, both undersize and released. Silvers probably ran 50/50 to keepers. We were about 8 to 10 miles south of CR Bouy and trolling Herring behind deep divers and flashers. After returning to his home we put in a day on the Cowlitz river with his son and daughter Shelby. I hooked up and broke off a nice steelhead, 15 minutes later Randolph hooked and landed a nice steelie keeper, guess it was about ten pounds no scale along. This is about fourth summer trip to coast and all have been as productive and fun filled as the others. My son now lives and has his practice in Ridgefield, WA. Countryside Veterinarians. And I am told he is a better Horse Doctor than he is a fisherman, now thats saying something. Sorry no pictures and as I most always say " remember to let your line out the other side of the boat before giving up for the trip. fisher-of-men
