Jason here, well Thursday about 6 pm, my wife Shawn and I went down to the old town dock to meet my friend hogge and matt. We took Shawn's brother Brandon with us also and started bottom fishing off the pier. Well fishing was slow, but the root beer was cold and good. About 8 pm we started catching Dog Fish or Dog sharks. They are a lot of fun and constant action. Well my friend hogge finally broke my 6lb record for Dog Sharks with a 7 1/2 lber. He also lost one that broke his line trying to pull it up to the top of the pier that was really big. Anyway, we caught 30 or 40 of those and some ratfish and were having a good time. At about 11pm, we rigged up some 5 ft leaders we made with 4 oz weight and 12/0 hook. Cut up some dog sharks for bait and slung it out as for as our fishing polls would carry it. At about 11:15 I got a hit and set the hook, then something big started stripping out line, I set my feet and held on with a big smile and gettrr dunn from my wife. I fought this beast for 10 or 15 mins and then started bringing it in after I played tug of war with this animal. Finally I pulled it to the surface and it was a 6 ft 6 gill shark, I guess 150 to 200lbs. These sharks are just solid and fat. Since then I have caught 2 more one 10 ft, and 1 more that was 8ft. I have lost several, my friend hogge has lost several also. My friend matt, well we are still working on his casting ability, he is special after all. Butt all and all it's been good times, and I will update you with more later.Jason, Shawn, Hogge, Matt & Brandon

*Editor's Note: I'm not sure about this but isn't targeting six gill against the regs? I seem to recall that being the case on Elliot Bay.
