Set out to Redondo about 5 PM. I knew a tide change was happening at 7 PM. I geared up with ol' reliable, green/glow Hot Spot with a white/glow hoochie
set at 75' and fished in 90' of water. At 6:30 my pole started to shake violently but not enough to trip the release off of the 'rigger.
At first I thought it could have been a small king. I was wrong. The fish turned out to be a 6 1/2 lb hatchery coho. He was a real slab.
The funny thing was the depth at which he was taken, 75'. Kind of weird! Normally silvers are caught right near the surface not at 75'. I am not complaining though. That was the only fish I caught and did not see any other fish taken.
Is the run of kings already done for the year??
