Hit the water about 3:30. Tide change was at 4:30. I knew I probably would not hit the prime feeding time at the "hour before tide change". That was OK with me. I knew there were fish to be had after catching a 20# king two days earlier.
I trolled around until my downrigger started to bounce at 7:15. Fish On! At first I thought I might have been hitting bottom because I was fishing 80' down in 90' of water. One look at the fishfinder and I knew I was not hitting bottom. After a short battle, I netted what turned out to be a 15# king. This fish looked exactly like the 20# king I had caught two days earlier but a little bit shorter and not as thick in the body. Fishing the 90' contour seems to be the depth these kings are running at off of Redondo.
